In the USA, there is a whole raft of research on Lactoferrin, and among the conditions which are being investigated are: angiogenesis; bone remodelling; food preservation; infection in animals, humans, plants; neoplasia (abnormal proliferation of cells in a tissue or organ) in animals, humans; inflammation in intestine, joints; wound healing; as well as enhancement of antimicrobial and antineoplastic drugs, and prevention of iron induced oxidation of milk formula. The results of a group of American researchers support the use of Lactoferrin in human allergic inflammatory disorders.
